At Dineum, the art experience becomes complete through the interaction between what you eat, the performance artists, and your fellow visitors—people you have yet to meet. This is what makes this art form so groundbreaking and unique.

Why is Dineum not a restaurant?

You visit a restaurant for a fine meal. At Dineum, you come for art, where food serves as a medium to experience that art. This concept only works when you step inside on an empty stomach. The art tour is curated in such a way that, together, the works are just as satisfying and filling as a full dinner.

What am I going to eat?

Accepted Answer

You will not only taste art, but experience it with all your senses! It is created from familiar ingredients in new, innovative forms. This means no unusual items such as insects or offal, but ingredients you would readily find in a high-quality restaurant. At Dineum, the multi-sensory eating experience itself is the art form. When people hear 'edible art,' they often picture something like a chocolate sculpture; a visually striking object that just happens to be edible. At Dineum, however, the story behind the art is revealed through the eating experience itself.

What does the evening look like?

Accepted Answer

Dineum is a complete night out. You will receive a warm welcome with a spectacular cocktail and amuse-bouche. Following this, you and your group will receive an introduction from our art host. Next, you will embark on the edible art tour; moving from one artwork to the next, experiencing each creation through its edible food and drink components. Throughout the installations, performance artists will guide and take care of you. Your journey concludes in our coffee bar, where you can unwind and reflect over a delicious specialty coffee or extraordinary tea paired with delicate friandises.

Question 5

What if there are ingredients or textures I do not like?

Accepted Answer

You can only fully experience the artworks by eating them as well. If there is an ingredient or dish you don't enjoy, you can simply leave the remainder of your portion. No need to worry: the art tour consists of multiple 'courses,' so you are sure to enjoy the next artwork. You will not be eating any unusual items such as insects or offal. Although the context, presentation, and textures of the food are not always conventional, the ingredients and flavors are often quite familiar. Our tasting panels enjoyed every creation. If you still feel hungry at the end of the art tour, please inform your art host. They will be happy to assist you.

Can I walk around the museum by myself?

Accepted Answer

You always join an art tour with a group of up to 8 people, with a scheduled start time. The performance artists within the artworks indicate when it is time to move on to the next piece. In each artwork, you have ample time to leisurely eat the edible part and fully experience the piece. By taking a tour, we can ensure behind the scenes that the edible parts of the artworks are always ready for you on time and fresh. It is possible to use the restroom during the tour.

How long does a visit last?

Dineum is a full-evening activity that lasts at least 3 hours. It is a complete night out with a special cocktail beforehand, a tour through four edible art installations, and coffee with firandises afterwards.
