What to expect during your visit to Dineum:
"The Life of Food" immerses you. It pulls you out of the ordinary. And takes you to new, strange places. Some seem familiar. Others are completely strange. All contain an edible part.

You move and take your place within each subsequent artwork
Move from one immersive artwork to the next, each telling a distinct narrative. Performance artists will be on hand to serve you your part.
The artwork lies in the experience of consumption itself
This art is not merely pretty to look at and coincidentally made of edible material. You truly can only experience these works by eating them; a new, unique art form that stimulates all senses. Because to create the context around the part that lands in your mouth, large installation artworks have been built where you take your place each time.

This offers a complete evening that is as fulfilling as it is filling.
urated to be as substantial as a complete dinner, the evening exhibition 'The Life of Food' unfolds in multiple 'courses' — delivering a stimulating and daring sensory experience, without being a traditional dinner out.
You Support Cultural Entrepreneurship
By visiting Dineum, you contribute to the creation of unique, extraordinary experiences. Dineum is an initiative by Studio ÉCHT, aiming to spark positive reflection through this experience. For various practical reasons, edible art does not fit into a conventional museum. That is why Dineum was established — to make this art form possible and share it with the world. Dineum embraces cultural entrepreneurship and operates completely independently of subsidies and grants. Studio ÉCHT believes in creating far-reaching experiences that are financially self-sustaining.

An extraordinary experience that lingers long after you leave
This experience will provoke thought. You become part of the art itself, and the experience literally becomes part of you. Everyone interprets the artworks in their own unique way. Throughout the evening, a variety of performance artists are there to facilitate your personal journey.
Dineum: A pop-up museum for immersive art experiences you can only fully experience by eating!
At Dineum, you become part of the art itself, and the experience literally becomes part of you. You don't just experience the installation artworks in Dineum by stepping inside and looking at them: you will also eat parts of them. In a conventional museum, visitors look at the same unchanged artwork time and time again.
Edible artworks, where the art experience consists of the act of eating itself, do not fit into a conventional museum for that reason. After all, once eaten, part of an edible artwork is gone and cannot be consumed again by the next visitor. In addition, visitors also need room in their stomachs to experience this form of art.
That is why Dineum works somewhat like a restaurant, yet remains distinctly different.
The edible portions are prepared and continually replenished for each new group of visitors. Performance artists ensure everyone receives their own 'portion'. Throughout the evening, you move from artwork to artwork. Together, the pieces in this edible art tour form a kind of 'dinner' consisting of multiple 'courses'. The tour is curated so that the artworks collectively are just as filling as a full dinner, without it feeling like traditional dining out. And in what other museum does something edible grow right on your plate for you to experience?

Avond-expositie: The life of food
